My old setup ran great when i had it. Its been through 2 owners since i had it and its still running strong. The setup was stock B20 block and head. No internal work. Its going on 1 year, 4 months old now. Did the swap in October of 2001.

Really, not even rod bolts? I've been thinking about doing a stock block and head LS or B20 VTEC. But everyones like, oh its gonna blow up in a week and stuff like that... Were you hard on it when you had it? For how long?

hard to believe...was it daily driven??what head were you using when you say "Stock Head " does it mean B20 stock head non VTEC??? be specific...cuz dayum sounds like u were one of the lucky ones...I was thinking of running a B20 Vtec set up back in the days.. but money wise didnt work out and when i got to find out they were not reliable for daily driven i called it quits...

The head was a stock 1st gen B16 head on a completely stock B20b block. No internal work at all. I had the B16 for about 8 months and decided i needed more torque. I was too ansy to wait and build it so i just threw the B20 block in.

I heard the same stuff about my setup, non reliable and all, but it ran great and still does. I drove it daily to work and school. I only had the one car. I also had a couple of misshifts in it. Meaning to go to 4th and hitting second. If you dont believe its still running IM Smokinsax. Hes the one who has the car now and its his only transportation also. I guess i was one of the lucky ones. This setups in '87 HB

It seems like the people on this board are having good luck with B20/Vtec...KEnji's EG just put down 217hp and 153tq with one.
