Default Any way to clean fast idle thermo valve?

My GSR idles at 3K when cold, then 1500 when warm. I plug the hole in the throttle body and it goes to the right RPM. Instead of paying the huge amount from acura, is there any way to clean or repair the current one? Thanks.

My FIAV has caused me no problems, however I have opened it up to clean it. Mine has a cover held on with two phillips head screws. Inside was a simple plunger arrangement. I recall some posts that claim there is some plastic part that comes lose and can be screwed down to correct the idle problem. From what I recall, mine had no such feature. Maybe someone familiar with this can post the link to the topic, or you could try a search to find it. The cure may apply to your application.
