electricution
i dont know exactly what is going on. this may sound very dumb at first but it is annoying. i get electricuted every time i get out of my car-when i touch the door to shut it, i get zapped-like strong static. today i also noticed that ( you know the chime when you turn the key, not the one that goes off when the door is open) sounded distorted. i clothes arent staticky when i get in my car, but they are when i get out. like i said, it sounds dumb and also not that major but its so ******* annoying.
sounds like bad wiring... have fun with that one.
I once had a problem where my car would die out at red lights - and I had a seat from hell (power seat that moved on its own) the cause of the problem was simple so I cut the power cord to it and no more stalling and no more problems. Tracking down the problem in your case will be alot harder... start with the obvious electrical stuff. Start at the battery, move to electrical stuff on the engine (dist., the engine ground) and move back... have fun!

thanks, i had a feeling it was something like that but i didnt know where to start. it just started recently and its a new car. i'll have my friend look at it-im going down to 1201 anyway.
I dont believe that it is a wiring problem. My car does it as well and it is brand new. My car has never stalled or had any types of electrical problems wrong with it. I have seen this topic alot and people say stop rubbing ur feet on the carpet. It is just one of those things that you have to deal with.
The static is caused by low humidity and friction, either from your butt on the seat, feet sliding on the carpet, or even generated by the tires. Michelins are really good at that. (Toll booth change operators really love to see those Accords rolling up to their booths.) When you exit the vehicle and touch any metal part of it you give the static charge a path to ground.
Ghetto cruisers always had at least two static straps hanging from the back bumper to compliment the half dozen curb feelers on each side of the car. Maybe you can find one of those static straps and hang it from under your car somewhere to bleed off the static charge.
