i was driving tonight and i notice that around 2000 rpm a sound that sounds like a eeeeeeeeeeeeee but in high pitch. like if something needs to be grease up. you think it might be my distributor??? it only happens around 2000 rpm

 

Check for proper tension on all of your belts. If something is too tight, it could cause a bearing to go out.

Do you have an aftermarket intake installed? My car "whistles" a bit due to my intake.

 

i have a AEM COLD AIR intake. it happen again this morning, i started my car and it made a screeching eeee sound while starting. it started when my car was broken in to last month. so i don't know. at first i though it was my window being bent and air was going through the cracks but its not. then when i am driving around 2000 rpm it does it for a long time. i am going to spray wd-40 on the belt to see what happens and if it happens again then i have to take to my guy. but i will check the belts.

ok i won't spray wd-40, i will check and see if i see cracks and ****. but this noise is starting to **** me off like the fuel pump is. i wish i can put a silencer on that fuckiing pump

 

ur fuel pump is making a noise? is it stock or aftermarket?
i dont think that is normal if it is stock

 

my friends car makes the same noise when it starts up...it might be the alternator..check that...not sure though

 

I have a AEM cold air intake and do have a whistle from it, so it could be that.

 

i have the same noise coming from my car it was driving me nuts so i replaced all the belts and it still did it. I finally had it looked at by a couple places and they all said it was my injen Cai

 

its an after market fuel pump. I know its not my cold air cuz its never done it before. it happen ever since last month. like this morning i was driving and i was at like 3 000 rpm and i was braking and it did it agian at 2000 rpm. its always at 2000 rpm never after or before. i check that belts yesterday and it seem good but i thinnk i may need to tighing up the timing belt and it seems real loose but i don't it that cuz i had my ear next to the cam gears and had my friend rev it and no noise in the motor. just inside the car. but i don't know wtf is going on. i am going to my guy shop in about half hour to figure it out. but i know for sure its not my intake. but i will put another intake on to see if it happens on it. (my old one). but the noise is pissing me off, thank god i am buying a radio tomorrow. i have not had a radio for 6 months.
