you know the sound an intake makes when you shut off the car????

well mine is kinda like that but its a squeeking sound , not the sound of air whooshing......any idea????

if its a belt could it be the alternator? but that usually squeaks when u start the car

is it coming from the intake itself? or else where?

i cant tell where its commin from , it sounds like a componet is letting off air after its shut off , almost like a dieing person with a whistle in his mouth blowing his last breath(sorry for that).

I usually hear two noises when I shut mine off. The final whoosh of air in the intake, and a strange whining sound that stops after a second or two. I really havent looked into since its done it every time for 2 years, but I am wondering if its maybe it could be the fan spinning down? Have someone looking at your engine bay when you shut it off and see if your fan is still spinning. Other than that I have no clue.

HAHAHA... maybe i have a sick sense of humor but that made me laugh out loud!

i have never heard of a belt making a straight noise after turning off the car... is there a specific reason why you DO NOT think it is just your intake?

no , i dont know it prolly could be my intake , but if it is , imma throw it in the trash cause it would be the offically pussiest intake sound ever......i just swapped my 00 ex motor into my hatch , and theres the sound..... it an unloading air sound thats for sure , maybe theres a kazoo hooked up to it.

I know that sound you are talking about. It happened on my 93 dx and also on my 96 dx. The 93 had an intake and my new one doesn't yet. I think it may be the fans as someone else has stated. It sounds like one fan spooling down and then another right after it. I think it is normal (I hope it is anyway)! Never had any problems out of my 93 and I drove it to the grave over 6 years.

hmm , ill have to investigate this more ,it could be the last little bit the fan is turning but i don think it is as i have the same fans as before.....

if you have your AC still blowing when u turned off your car it might be that...i always heard that when i did that
