Default battery Q

why does my batt keep dieing? i have a dope wheelchair
batter in my trunk, and it keeps giving out, like i left my
lights on or something?
i know its a stupid *** question, but could it be my battery
or might there be a short or something? i think the battery
should work fine. i dont see what it would not.
just want to see what you guys think, also. how much are
those little 1/2 size race batts. like the spoon one? and where
to get them?

check out gotbatteries.com or odyssey batteries website. They have some batteries that were made for motorcycles but are now being marketed for high performance race applications. There was a guy in the classifieds selling a racing battery also.

thank you!!! that seems like it could VERY easily be the problem!!! i just changed my aulternator about a month ago with a newer one. so i am pretty sure that alternator wire could be the problem.
is that wire, the one that has a boot that looks like a spark plug boot? where does it go to? thanx man!

one more thing people. can i run my stero with this battery? the race batter, i dont have a sub, just a alpine deck, 6.5 and 6x9's. would it be ok to run that with a race battery like this one? and does anyone know if i can get this battery cheaper the 160? and where?

all those small batteries are for racing applications where every lb could cost a precious second at the track. They arent really ment for daily driving, meaning, you could use them but dont expect to sit in at the mall for 20 min listening to music with your car off. If the battery is simply dying on you even after a long drive and you try to start it up then there could be something wrong with your alternator.

no its really weird, it starts up fine after drives. just when it sit in my drive port over night. then i wake up about noon, go to start my car and its almost dead. my stero works fine and head lights are bright???
kinda upsetting me
and my battery has like 12.3 volts. maybe its not taking the load good? it drops to like 5 when i start my car, turn it over.
THANK YOU GUYS! i love the info.

Probably not a very good battery to run in a car. It's for a wheelchair right? How many cranking amps so you think a wheelchair needs in the morning to get it started up? HAhaha! I think the wheelchair battery may work for a while, but after using it over time it's probably really harsh on the internals to experience such a power drain over time. I think that may be a reaso why it's not holding much of a charge over night.

you said you were using a wheelchair battery, well what kind of amperage does it have, it might be undersized.

runing your headunit will not be a problem with a "racing" battery if your alternator works,

Wheelchair battery? Hmmm.

Get an Optima Yellow Top or Red Top - they're made for electric scooters. Should work better.

I know of some people that were using tracktor batteries during autoX, they only had enough power to start the car but just get a normal one to use and fall back on if you decide to keep on pursuing the use of a racing one.
