good rule of thumb is hondabond on the corners.

i went under there and tightened them up.. i torqued them down when i first installed it but it didnt seem as tight.. so i went under and retightened them.. oh and i lowered the car back to a level position. its been jacked up in the front on jack stands. hopefully this will solve the problem. the gasket. and pan are brand new.

Do not over torque, it can and will pinch the gasket, causing a leak. Yes, use hondabond, atleast on the corners. Also, if you put it on upsidedown, it will leak too. I am sure there are other things that can contirbute to it, but that is all I have experienced...

do the raised dimples (on the contact surface) on the oil pan help prevent pinching?

Honda/Acura dealer or a Honda motorcycle dealer. Use the Hondabond sparingly, too much will cause the gasket to compress too much and squeeze out. Same effect as overtorqueing.

I guess it helps pinching in a side to side motion. But in the case that you overtorque and squeeze the gasket out the side of the Block/pan, they do not seem to stop then. I have seen the gasket ooze out and get cut on the back side by the block.
