Default Tranny Pricing?

Hi, the transmission in my '98 Type R needs to be either rebuilt or replaced. The shifting is really notchy in all of the gears, 3rd and 5th gear syncros could use some help, and reverse pops out about every 10 feet. I am leaning towards just buying a brand new transmission, because it seems as though the previous owner beat on the tranny pretty badly, so here is my question....I know the Spoon tranny was $1750, but is discontinued. Does Honda still sell a complete transmission, and how much is it? Hoping I can call Baranco and get some type of discount.

Thanks,

Matt

If you call your acura dealer, they most likely won't have it in stock, but can order it for you. Quotes can vary, but the one i got by my local dealer quoted me for 2200.

Last I heard trannys were in short supply, with a national backorder of several months.

Might want to check with sgT and see if he's got any spares he's willing to part with.

The only person who I know has it in stock currently is b18c1_powered_si

EDIT: It is not a USDM TRANNY but he has the SAME gears as the 97-01 US ITR.

98+ CTR = 4.40 FDR
96 JDM ITR = 4.40 FDR

I AGREE!

Brian has great condition stuff. My tranny shifts perfect, and I could not have gotten a better unit. You can save over 1g it sounds like, and you will get just as good of a tranny.
