Default rear sway bar.

i recently installed some spoon progressive springs and, while i am very happy with the improvement they made to the car, i still think the car tends to understeer a little much. i figure that the easiest way to solve this is with a larger rear sway bar. what would you guys recommend? price? mounting kits? thanks in advance.

Mike at IPS Racing had a special on them for about $80 but he's out I think. I also think that Steve at PasswordJDM has them right now for I think $99 plus shipping.

I fondly remember giving this advice to a friend recently: "If you're a man, you'll get the 26mm mugen bar."

hmm...it seems like the 24mm mugen one would be a good middle ground. anybody have any expirience with it? what about the 26mm? do either of these bars require any special mounting kit? thanks in advance!

Click here for Willard's review on the JDM 23mm rear sway bar. I haven't seen any reviews on the other one's though. If someone could post up some links that would be great.

price? does it retain stock mounting points, or does it need a kit? what kind of suspension are you currently running? haha...sorry for all the questions, i'm just trying to make an informed decision. thanks for all your help!

Umm, you need to look harder. Go to the NEW ARRIVALS section under this month and it should be listed there.

The Mugen unit gos for about $370 according to IPS Racing website. nowt sure on the other stuff. D, care to give a better review?

is it really that noticeable of a difference? it seems like 1mm shouldn't affect the car all that much. if it means anything, the car is on spoon springs with stock shocks currently.

You could swap out your rear tires for the cheapest fuel economy rubber you can find, that'd solve any understeer issues.

i already swapped out the rears for a pair of absolutely trashed kumhos. you'll never guess where i found them -- they were on the front of car.

23mm = 19% stiffer compared to the stock 22mm sway bar

Compared to the stock 22mm sway bar

24mm = 42% stiffer
26mm = 95% stiffer

just a little extra info

FYI - King doesn't carry the 24, only the 26, and yes it uses all stock mounting.

I run it before, and it gets the job done, but I swapped to a custom Saner bar on my race car. Even better, but the mounting uses rod ends. Not great on a street car.

I doubt the 23 will be enough to your liking, but it is cheap.

well i'm not expecting this to make the car oversteer drastically, i was just hoping to make the car, at the very least, a little more nuetral and get rid of some of the understeer that i'm dealing with right now.

get the 26mm. i have it on my car and it's nice. it will definitely get rid of the understeer. but you need to get some good tires to go with it.

i have AVS Intermediates and the ability to stay in control while in oversteer isn't as good as the REO10. i banged up my fenders because the AVS' in the rear broke out.
