Default Clutch Questions

Well I just got a new clutch in my 93 del sol si, Its a OEM one from the dealership. I had it installed along with master cylender etc... well it still feels like before but just doesnt squeek and chatter anymore (trashed throwout berings). the pedal is very soft, and it doesnt really grab hard like I thought a brand new clutch would. also sometimes taking off from first i get what feels like wheel hop letting out the clutch.

If anyone could describe what their clutch feels like or if mine sounds correct plz let me know i would be very grateful!

also this is on a D16 motor.

What Kind of break in is required? the guy at dealership said it is not needed with the stock clutch.

also im not really expecting anything spectacular but I did expect it to be a pretty good grip. is the pedal supposed to be kinda mushy?

Check how much fluid is in the master cylinder.

Just out of curiosity how much was it just for the new clutch?

there is no break in period if its installed corectly you should be able to do burn outs all day long right out of the garage it was installed in

parts--300 for clutch, pressure plate, pilot/throwout bearings. plus about 300 in labor.... but it ended up costing more than that because the master cylinder etc was busted and dry. I stood and watched him install the whole thing.. He looked like he knew his stuff, did a good job IMO but it just feels wierd, does anyone elses clutch pedal feel soft? or does it just need to be adjusted

Also my master cylinder is full, its brand new!!

any other help would be great

stock clutches are soft.. for the money you spent on the stock clutch you could have gotten a exedy race organic clutch and saved 50 bucks and had a pretty stiff pedal..but its too late for that...does it engage fine? any other problems besides its a soft pedal? from what your telling me everything seems fine except your not happy with the feel of the pressure plate

no it enages fine just not too stiff, the only reason I opted for a stock clutch was because the other one was about to bite the big one... and an engine swap is in the near future soooo.... I just opted for stock (heck it lasted for 120k mi on a stock one so why not)

mitch

PS can the stifness of the clutch be adjusted?
