HELP! MY CLUTCH IS WACK!
i really dont know what happened but my clutch is completely different then it used to be. I've driven my car for more than a year now and before when i push the clutch down just a little i would feel some resistance. now i can push it half way down and it's not disengaging the clutch at all. and when i push it now all the way down it shifts like it's only half way down, hard. i dont know whats wrong with it so any help would be great. post any question you have and i'll try to answer them the best i can. BTW it's a 1993 honda del sol S with a stock clutch

try bleeding your clutch man with some fresh brake fluid. if not check by your clutch pedal to see if its slippery/wet. if it is chances are the clutch master cylinder is leaking brake fluid. also follow the clutch lines from your master to your slave cylinder and try to see if there's any leakage. it's recommended to replace your master and slave cylinder at the same time. if you do this and the problem doesn't go away, try a stainlees steel clutch line. if that doesn't work try adjusting where the clutch grabs by the pedal. if not, sell your honda

timing belt.. ???
why would you do a timing belt at a clutch change?
not like you have to take off the belt cover or pulleybolt to get the clutch off.
but yeah, examine your master cylinder..
make sure fluid as at the proper level.
check all the clutch lines for leakage.
if the MC is low, add fluid and try it out for alittle,
if it changes again something is amiss.
but really, if the level of the MC ever drops, thats a sign that something is wrong

Hahahahaha
New timing belt with the clutch because they're SOOOOOOOOOOO related.
Try bleeding your clutch and making sure fluid level is correct.

yea..... NEW clutch..... sucks to be you but to save you a lot of trouble when you take the trans off.... and put everything back together... remember to put fluid BACK into the tranny first.... or you could end up with a bum tranny too! (you know who you are)...... just buy an exedy replacement clutch... same as oem, better built, and CHEAPER!!!

dude,
get a manual like nOW!
you're starting to venture into more techy areas of car work, where you're going
to want a book in front of you if you've never done this before.
otherwise you'll just have to come crying to HT every step of the way..
I know.. i do that with everything, hehehehe..
err... thnx HT ...

Re: HELP! MY CLUTCH IS WACK! (gSx.)
The master cylinder is hard to get at but easy to see, look in the car under the dash its the part connected to the pedal, look there first for leaks, ussually where it goes bad from a bad seal, Also check your slave cylinder its the one mounted on the transmission itself, and check the lines going between the two, If id have to bet id say the master is leaking so check it over good, rub your hand on it and see if you see any oil there shouldent be any so..... Good luck!

Re: HELP! MY CLUTCH IS WACK! (Bambooseven)
on the front of your engine there is a slave cylinder.... there should be a rubber boot around the housing with a slit in the bottom of it. stick your finger in there. theres nothing sharp so you dont have to worry about that. just make sure noone is pushing on the pedal while youre in there. anyway, check for fluids in there that may possibly be leaking. good luck

Re: HELP! MY CLUTCH IS WACK! (gSx.)
i know i need a manual and i will just as soon as my car can move again. today numious times i had to physicaly force it into first so i can get home. I"ll going to add some fluid in there right now and check for leakage. Plus i was told by someone that i may need to bleed the clutch? Any ideas on how to do this?

Re: HELP! MY CLUTCH IS WACK! (gSx.)
where i told you to look for leaks. the slave cylinder... theres a bleeded valve. youll need another person to do this. (with conventional tools anyway) get someone to pump the clutch. and hold it tight. you crack the screw open and let it flow. dont let them let off of the clutch until the screw is closed. then repeat the process until you are satisfied. make sure you keep the fluid cup full. and also. use dot4 brake fluid in there.
