Default Manual rack install into an eg civic

Is there any special way of installing a manual civic rack into a 92-95 civic that used to have a power steering rack?

Should just be as easy as pulling the old one out and installing the manual, but one thing you can do is just remove all the power steering equipment and just loop the fluid so it just goes out one hole and right back into the other, i just did this on an Integra GS-R and it works fine and this way you still keep fluid in the rack so it doesnt dry out and you get to clean up the engine bay by removing all the PS crap..

Its as simple as taking the power rack off
and putting the manual one on. This is much
better than cutting the lines. It is easyer to stear
a manual rack than it is to stear a power rack with
no fluid.

I need a new rack in the eg. So this is an easy install? This would be manual to manual too.

So to convert my Ex to manual steering, all I would have to is buy part #9 from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ERING+GEAR+BOX (92 Cx Steering Rack $87.36)... and I'll be all set?

your best bet is to find the whole rack at a junk yard, i picked mine up with subframe for around $150

on that note, the power and manual subframes are different, the end oppisite of where the column is, the "U" bracket and bushing.... the frame right behind that on an auto has a cutout for the larger diameter power rack, and the bushing is round, the manual frame behind that is flat the the manual bushing has a flat side on it.

I was told that i absolutly needed the manual rack subframe to go with the manual rack, but the power one might be able to be modded

The manual racks have a slower ratio, which means you'll have to turn the wheel more to get the tires to steer the same amount. I would recommend converting your power rack to a vented non-powered rack, similar to what RealTime Racing does in their ITR's. See how to do it here:
