Removed power steering - Do I need to install a manual rack?

Rack and pinion is a pain in the ***. A lot of people take their power steering out. Do you really think all of them change it to a manual rack and pinion? Heck no.

You do need to drain the fluid out of the rack and pinion and disengage it or its gonna be that much harder to turn the wheels. But no, u do not need a manual power rack.

To give an answer to your question, it`s up to you. Do you want to work a little to turn the wheel at low speeds? and have one less pump to worry about going bad? Or do want to be spoiled and have 'assisted' turning lol? That`s pretty much the way I see it.

you need a little fluid left in the rack. then seal it and loop the line.
