Default 2.4 block?

Since the new crv's have a 2.4 dohc i-vtec can you put that block onto a k series head? thats **** will bounch i caint wati to help my bro put on in his ep

They can be mated, but the CR-V/Element/Accord K24 block and internals are not designed for 8000 rpm.

go to honda an buya complete k2.4 longblock and put it on your ep head if you wanted to... it will be way more tourqeier... but puttin a k2.4 bored/sleeved blcok ont a complete built s2000 head you are talking power baby... its all the same as th b series motors all compatable but no nonvtec to vtec bullshit like ls/vtec or b20/vtec... all are I-vtec yeh buddy these new monsters are ILL.

One problem with the S2K head the manifold faces the opposite direction, which means either custom fit the Type-S manifold to the S2k head or a custom manifold. Or does the Type-S head bolt directly up?

aright i just thought about it and the s2000 head isnt I vtec, so a jdm k20 R head will do just fine : )

I don't think the K20 type R head is all that different from the type S head, valvetrain notwithstanding. I know the DC2 ITR heads receive a hand port & polish but have read the the DC5 ITR heads do not....yet these heads flow better than the DC2 ITR. They DC5 type S (K20A2) head flows almost as good as the F20C1 head

Check out the flow bench test performed by the individual who ports Erick's head
