my idle keeps revving up and down what is wrong? im clueless
my ilde revs from 500 to 2000 rpms. if it idles steady it stays around 1500.. i have checked all the vaccum lines i dont know whats wrong. i also checked my tps and its good any suggestions?
when was the last time you replaced your thermostat and how are your coolant levels? i had the same problem with mine when i replaced my thermostat last time cause i lost a lot of coolant in the process. once i got the coolant system squared away the problem fixed itself. hope this helps.
I had the same problem, check your tps and purge valves, also adjust the idle screw on the back of the throttle body.....that should do it!
ICV idle control valve, change it out, its located on the back of your b-series manifold, ther is a coolant hose that runs to it. its easy to replace, jsut do it when the car is cold so you dont get hot coolant allover your hands, might want to remove the intake manifold if you have trouble getting your hands down in to it.
I've had idle problems before too, but I found out that my Spark Plugs were corroded. Had them replaced and my idle got smooth.

if you dont have a check engine light on it is not your iac valve. if you have a hissing sound from your intake pull your intake hose and cover the top hole on the inside left of your throttle body. if your idle steadies out it is your FIT valve or Fast Idle Thermo valve. it mounts under your throttle body and contains a small thermostat that, based on water temperature will cause a small vaccum leak to raise the idle for warm up. I had the same problem and it was because the plastic ring that centers the thermostat had come loose. you can take off the back plate and adjust the ring, but if that doesnt work, it is not a cheap part to buy new. good luck. Oh yeah, if there is an air bubble in the FIT valve it could cause the idle to stay higher than normal but I am not sure that it would cause it to fluctuate. Even so, you could try to bleed your water system.
