Having Tranny problems... does anyone know whats wrong..??
okay i have a "95 civic EX"..
when i try to shift it into gear the tranny makes a whining noise and grins and it wont like me into any of the gears..
but when i am able to shift it into gear the clutch still grabs and is drivable...
i have almost 140k miles on the car...
i know i need to replace the clutch...
but i want to know does it sound like a gearbox problem..??

j/pit sounds like you need to replace the clutch assembly. the whining noise may be the release bearing. just a guess with the limited info.
