I doubt it. For the money, it wouldn't be worth it...

Would you be doing such a mod just for the vtec sound? If so, you should probably shoot yourself. Otherwise.. I don't think it will be much of a power gain. Close to nothing is my guess...

A few years back I did a dyno comparing the '97-'98 USDM ITR intake cam to the CTR intake cam. I had the same ITR exhaust cam for all the runs. I wish I still had that dyno graph laying around.

Power and torque before VTEC was identical. This is intuitive, since the primary and secondary lobes are identical. However, after VTEC I gained 2-5 Hp throughout. So, the extra duration (3 degrees) does make a difference. Is it worth it? That is up to you...

I had very similar gains using a 2000/2001 ITR Intake Cam.

Figure some Rice kid will pay $200 for your 98 cam cause it is from a Type-R and you can end up paying about $90 for the whole upgrade.

2000 intake cam is same as ctr cam. The only difference is you will be paing more for CTR cam because it says CTR. Save the funds and get a 2000 cam.

Same end result

I don't disagree the ITR and CTR cams are slightly differnet but find it funny people say there is no worthwhile difference between a 98 and 00/01 ITR Intake cam but are quick to point out there is some minimal difference between a CTR and ITR cam.

That said you will see a bigger gain from a 98 to 2000 ITR cam than from a 2000 to CTR cam. (All cams mentioned are intake cams)

Toda A would be it for me... Something the stock valvetrain can handle. But nothing up to 9500 or something that require Ti parts... I blew my b18c6 though parts were installed properly. It lasted 40.000km and bang!
