Is there anything I should watch out for while buying a Civic Hatch/Coupe? Right now I'm fighting myself on which type I should get. I would love a hatch but its hard to find them around here, even harder to find with a 5sp transmission. I would like a SOHC 1.6 Vtec engine but I will settle for a 1.5 Non-Vtec.

But back to the point. Anything like rust or leaks I should know about before I buy one? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Looking for a 92-98 (Kinda odd years but eh).

 

check for rust under the rear quarter panel area in the fender well. and bring a magnet with you to see if there was any bondo used on the body.

 

i would suggest getting a lesser model than a ex or si because they have a lot of unnecessary weight and when you swap the engine that 100lbs or so will help a bit.

 

WOW!!!You have more auto's? Thats weird, i have only seen 2 of these.
Make sure you dont pay more than you have too. Thats my advice.
