Default My ricer vtec question

if i have itr cams and a skunk2 mani then technically vtec should be just as loud right?

i know it shouldnt matter how loud vtec is but i just have a thing for it, everytime i hear it a fall in love all over again

btw i have itr cams in my gsr and my timing was fucked up but vtec was wicked loud...

but now the timing is correct everything i wayyy smoother and vtec is a lot more subtle(which i know is good) but im just curious why it would sound "less aggressive"

yes i am a rice boy at heart

Yes it should. I hope you have an intake if you want it to be loud.

if you want to hear your vtec kick in just get a short ram intake including the itr cams and the skunk2 manifold.

Yeah, there's a website that features that girl somewhere. I think it's some dude's girlfriend from a BMW message forum...

I wonder why that would be....? Longer tube = lower frequency resonant point. So, I wonder if it seems louder because it produces a lower tone.

It could be the material that AEM uses.

True. It's a relatively thin piece of aluminum that would be prone to vibration. Organ pipes are made of sturdier stuff than that, and they make a lot of noise...

yea that sounds about right...it def had a lower tone..it was great

well i was messin with my vtec point today and i raised it to 5k...it sounds a lot better, but the only prob is its not as smooth as before ( i had it at 4800)

think i should keep it at 4800 or 5k?

Whatever keeps the power delivery the smoothest. You'll get better acceleration that way. Get it on a dyno, I'd say.
