Those with Skunk2 Stage 1 CAMS! Look inside!!!
Ok. Someone with the Skunk2 Stage 1 Cams are saying that their Vtec isn't that loud and that it's pretty much Stock sounding.
If you download the video of my car on the Dyno in my Signature, you can hear my Vtec, and it SCREAMS.
How does your Vtec sound?? How is it suppose to sound?

yea....anyone who says stage 1's sound stock...

How much do they run for??? Are they used for NA or FI????
$500+ used
N/A. if you're F/I stick with stock cams. cams are the last place to look for power in F/I setup.

He must not have stage 1 if he can't hear he's vtec; because mine kicks in just as loud if not louder then Skunk2nr does on his vid. So you’re defiantly not alone on this one.

It's all depend on what else you have on there. I had it w/ stock intake and it's not very loud @ all. But when I put on the AEM CAI, it got much louder in VTEC.

And for those who are running these Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, are you running on Stock Valvetrain? I am, and I'm just wondering how many of you are also.

the volume also depends on where your vtec crosses over at. if youre crossover is at 4800 its not gonna be as 'boomy' as if you set it at 6000. for those of you w/ a vafc, try it. dial it in at 4400 or 4800 or whatever the hell you weirdazz intake boys crossover at, then set it at six grand, where a Toda cam would crossover at. Sure you will lose power or whatever, but when vtec does engage, it will rip your tires and your ears off. try it and find out. it is basically beacuse you are going from one extreme to the end. my vtec used to be a lot louder before i lowered it, (vtec, not the car ) and has plenty of mods.

I don't want to sound like a dumbass, but isn't that the secondary butterfly opening creating that loud *** change in sound?

seroiusly, stick with the companies that make your cams for their valvetrain, why? well they made them specifically for THAT camshaft, and no other valvetrain will be more fit for the job.
