Default Fans Not Working, Temp Skyrocketing!!!

so, my problem on this beater is that the fans have stopped working. the temp now shoots up real quick cause the fans are not turning on. i left it idling and turned on the defroster, and still no fans. im guessin the fan control unit that someone mentoined in an earlier post i made. any other ideas?

also, the car keeps dying in neutral at a stop, but when im moving in neutral the car doesnt die. i might try to tighten the throttle cable. i cant figure out what else. another post mentioned that i could try to move the dile screw after unplugging a sensor, but i cant find in on my h22. any other ideas?

on another note, i dont frequent the boards anymore cause i hate my car. lol. and i ride the bike all the time now and am on the gixxer.com board,

yeah, but without the fans, the coolant will eventualy evap out and go low. i dont want to keep refilling the radiator all the time.

I don't understand this.
Does the car overheat when you are moving at like say 30MPH or more? At these speeds the fans do very little in the way of cooling because the cars movement cools it. The car should be fine when moving. If not look at your water pump or thermostat sticking shut/not opening all the way. If your fans are not kicking on, check the things the above posters are mentioning.

fans dont work at idle and not moving. also, the car overheats at idle, when i start moving, it cools it, but really slow and the temp is way above normal

I think I may have posted this once before, but here it is again

This is what caused my fans not to work....

It was the fan timer/control unit under the seat (well...on mine). Don't know exactly what caused it, except some sort of defect I guess. Those 3 diodes were burnt and melted to all hell. Replaced it with another from the junkyard ($3.50 fix..can't beat that!), and they've worked perfectly ever since. Something worth a check!

there is a temperture fan switch sensor that could go bad.

do the fans work when attached directly to a 12v power source? see if they run if they are hooked up to the battery direrctly. that will eliminate one possible problem.
