About how much do you change your oil?
I race my car very seldom lately but should i still switch to sythetic oil? Im using regualr oil right now. I put synthetic in my old Si. And about how many miles do you change your oil if you race. I havent been lately cause racing here has declined a little and theres more cops around. But i do get that little boost to get an adrenalin rush. I am goin to start takin it to the track though. But i know that h22 go trough oil faster then most cars. My h23 i changed every 3 to 5000 miles.

actually, if you do timely oil changes, there's no difference between synthetic and regular. synthetic only lasts longer, so the preference is up to you. if your car is older, i wouldn't switch to synthetic, if you car is newer, and you've only done a couple of changes, i would say it's safe to switch to synthetic.
Higher oil consumption of synthetic oil in older vehicles. This is a common warning often offered without much explanation. "Synthetic finds leaks" is a way it is often worded. The actual process or theory, as I understand it is this. An old engine that has been running conventional oil for all its life will typically be a bit clogged up with deposits from this oil. Where they have built up over seals, those seals will no longer be kept pliable and good by constant contact with fresh oil. As such, they may dry out a bit and no longer serve their function. However, the built up layer of crud will prevent the oil from leaking.Synthetic oil, since it tends to run cleaner and effectively remove the old deposits from your engine, will excavate those seals - and reveal the leaks.
While this exposes some truth to the theory, what it really means is that your engine could use a few new seals - and that the cleaning process afforded by the first fill or two with synthetic is highly beneficial, since there will be similar sclerotic build ups in places where the oil should run freely, like the passages through which it flows.

You know the old saying, "you can't change your oil too much." Personally if you have a 97 SH it's probably best for you to go to a synthetic oil. It lasts longer and provides a little more protection. If you are racing a lot a little Mobil One doesn't hurt.
I am going to change mine tomm. I bought AMSOIL. It cost me $38 for 6 quarts. (I bought extra in case i have to top it off every so often) I have a 95 Si with 69k miles. I'll change it every 6-8k miles and change the filter every 3k. If you are going to go synthetic. I HIGHLY reccomend AMSOIL. I read reviews on it and never heard anything bad. And it beats mobil 1 in viscosity tests. I also reccomend WIX filters. Good luck.
