Turbo Kits for SOHC Vtech
Go for it. Im not gonna bust your nuts about the vtech thing cuz i think its gay but its spelled vtec for future references. but I gotta a d16 (sohc) and ive talked to others with them that have the turbo and they say it puts better numbers on the ground than a swap. but it all depends on how much boost you run. if i were you i would do it because the b series and h series swap are getting old and very common. the sohc turbo has been done alot just not as much as the swaps so i say
for the turbo.
for the turbo.
How much do u think it will add? any good kits i should look in to? or a waste of time?
thanks jon
thanks jon
it's VTEC.... V-T-E-C.
turbo is not available for phones, boy.
and to inform you -- Apex and GReddy make awesome street kits. They also produce very nice power for the size turbo they have. You'd be running approx 14 seconds on stock engine (6-7 PSI)

Thanks for not being an ******* about it. I know I made a mistake. But thanks for the input. I appreciate it
Dude, I have nothing more to say to you than **** you. Obviously you’re a quick one, noticed my “Trail User” avatar. Yeah I’m new to this, so what’s the big deal? You were new to at one time. I’m trying to learn, and sorry I spelt vtec wrong, who gives a damn, you need to get a ******* life dude. Stop harassing people who are new and trying to learn ****. Hell I could ask a question about how to put those LED washer nozzles on my car. I asked a question about a turbo kit and spelt a word wrong…why do you have to be so damn rude about it? I’m sorry im not a perfect person and know everything about ******* Honda. Hell if it makes you feel better, I don’t even know what the **** EK, EG, ect mean. Whoa! I’m a real newb huh? Get a life *******.
EK,EG etc..... are chassis codes for civics. don't worry about people like that on this board.
I think I kinda like this guy.
If you want to get more info, do more research. Do a search on here, or you could check out some other boards dedicated to D series engines:
turbo D16 board
All things D related
That should get you on a good start.

No problem, I can remember not knowing alot myself. Hell, I still don't know ****. Thankfully I am patient, and I read/research tirelessly. I suggest the same for you, don't get frustrated and try to read old threads before asking. Sometimes the answer you are looking for is in an old post, and it may even be answered better than what you get making a new thread. Really, there is no need for anyone to start slinging mud, its just a message board.
I'm not harrassing you bubba.
Just informing you harshly
and you do need to calm the **** down.
I just find it amusing when someone cries when I say 2 words.
There is millions of people on this board with sohc turbo's and threads on this issue as well.

most of the members moved. go to the new board: http://pollito.no-ip.com/turbod16/
actually i think im pretty knowledgable on this subject, but im wondering what kind of power its like, idc bout dyno, i want to know how it feels to drive it, i had a gsr in my old 95 coupe, and im wondering if it will be like that or better or worse?? do the kits that come for these engines have alotta lag or are they pretty responsive, how long would or could i expect a d16z6 to last if tuned properly at say 8 or 9 pounds of boost, also would a mini-me swap be just as good for turbo?
wait a few months. edelbrock has a nice kit for the d16y8 coming out. It may be a little expensive, but not much more than the other kits by the time you get all of the accessories.
A sohc turbo is an excellent choice and with low boost (6-7psi) will put down significantly more power than any b-series swap (b16, b18, etc.). Turbo is also cheaper than most swaps unless you can get some good hook-ups.
