If you reset your ECU, then its still picking up a fault. If the original fault was bogus, or it was just momentary, then resetting your ECU would make it go away. Since it came back, that means the problem is still there. You gotta read what the fault code is.

Some places like AutoZone will read them for you for free... If they tell you something that doesn't make sense, post back & tell us.

here the situation for my car...2002 accord coupe
when i got my hi flow cat, there's no slot for the o2 plug,
the cel is on of course and I am running rich.
harm performance and gas mileage
the solution:: bypass the secondary o2 sensor(aka cat. converter sensor)
and it will go away(cel).
I did it with some simply resistors and capacitor.(thx to Boosted cl guy )
Also, if you are lazy and rich go grab a o2 sensor simulator for about 100 buckx

Technically no.

You wont know if anything else is wrong if you drive around with it on. I.e. you get a another code.

There are codes that will put your car in limp mode and you'll have no way of knowing when it happens.

FYI , a hollowed out converter will cuase a lot of exhaust turbulence. A high flow cat or testpipe would be much better for you.
