Default Fluid Clutch problem - CRX VTi Del Sol, In the UK.

Garage fitted new clutch 800 miles ago, best part of £400.00. Working fine.
Took it back at 500 miles 'for adjustment' as they requested.
Since then downshifting is virtually impossible in 4th, 3rd and 2nd.
Garage said problem was clutch master cylinder... so they replaced it for £175.00
Problem still exists...
Questions:
1. Could it be something as simple as they have not bled the clutch correctly?
2. Has anyone else had a similar problem, if so, what cured it?
3. The garage have been good over the last 3 years for general servicing, but right now...not so sure.
4. Can't ask local Honda dealer, they wanted to sell me new O2 sensor, when what was actually needed was a new exhaust rear box! Wouldn't trust'em to tell me the time without checking. Reset fault codes 3 times and charged £50 a time for the privaledge. (Got the exhaust clue from info in this forum!!)
5. Synchro hubs or selectors on the way out?
Any other clues to what it might be?

The critical point, I think, is that all worked fine for the 500 miles...what could they have adjusted?

Quick final question...what is the switch on the clutch pedal for?

Thanks for any help.

The car is a 'as it comes from Honda' 1600cc CRX VTi 'Del Sol' as I understand it.

The switch on the clutch is only a switch that will not allow the car to be started unless engaged. Pedal must be to floor for this. You're shifting problem could be air in the clutch system. This would cause the clutch to not fully disengage.I would just bring it back to the shop that serviced it. Being a hydrolic clutch there isn't really much for adjustment, if any. Hope this helps.
