Default Skunk 2 cams and reliability. I did a searc

Hey guys. Did a search for skunk 2 cams and reliability and all I found were prices and people comparing skunk2 Stage 1 to skunk2 stage 2. Seems like alot of people are saying Stage 1s are the way to go.

My real concern is reliability. These are a great alternative to Toda B cams which I've had in mind for a long time. These costs almost half those. My only concern is reliability and quality. For the price you pay do they do just as good as job as Toda cams in terms of reliability at half the cost? Don't have the money to buy a new motor because a cam breaks on me. Any help on this would be great.

Alot of people have been going skunk2 stage 1 because you really dont 'need' to up the compression to get the most out of the cams. They are good addition as a bolt on, whereas the B's would benefit more from higher compression.

I know of a few people who are running on skunk2 cams right now, and all seem to be fairly happy with theirs. I on the other hand am happy with my B's.

I'm running the stage 1 for about 18000 miles now with no problems so far, (knocks on wood) I think there great for everyday use and there carb certified if you care about that.

ive seen post with alot of people making some really good numbers with stage 1's. thats what ill be going with, ive heard a few stories about b's shreading timing belts. but i think that is merely from a novice install.

Thanks for the replies so far. the Skunk2 cams are very apealing considering my budget. I've always thought that if your going to do cams, you might as well spend the extra cash for higher quality cam gears and a stronger timing belt.

So, there have not been any horror stories about skunk2 cams?

Thanks for the input so far

i dont know about not being any, i just think that with the B's being so lobey, that there is less room for error
