I have to interject quickly.

I have had my Fujitsubo RM-01A exhaust now for 2+ months. More than half of the time I had a test pipe. Non-resonated Test Pipe, that is. The noise level was no greater than the hi flow carsound cat that now resides where the test pipe used to be. No decrease in power, no loss in noise. The only difference was the lack of smell and black cloud out the exhaust at WOT.

Yes, this is for only one exhuast, one that does not make much noise to begin with. My experience has been that a test pipe's only function is ... well, there is no function other than to NOT help cut down on emissions to the atmosphere.

Anyhoo, that being said, I can't see how the T1R resonated test pipe could have any different sound charateristics than a regular cat, given you actually have a resonator on your exhaust.

Chris - who just wanted to add that a 12"-16" section of piping amongst 7-8 feet of piping cannot change the sound that exits the rear of the car all that much.

...But of course you wouldn't know that because you didn't search.
