Fixed my CarSound Cat Rattle! Pics of the problem and solution!
So, Recently i developed the dreaded 1600~1700 RPM carsound cat rattle.
it really annoyed me. So today i pulled the cat off, and what did i find?

Not so good.
Took a screwdriver, broke the loose honeycomb up, knocked it out, and this is what came out:

Car sounds MUCH smoother now, feels marginally better as well.
and for the heck of it, here's some more eye candy

hmm ur car prolyl dun pass smog ne more eh.. isn't that honeycomb stuff really not good for you? one dude told me it's toxic.. but i dun think theyd be allowed to shove it in a cat if it was.

As for it being toxic, it probably is, i have a killer headache right now after messing with that stuff.
Thank god for vicodin.

Had it for all of 6 weeks when it started rattling, granted that 6 weeks was running the stock fuel curves, it has since been leaned out considerably.
No difference in smell as there still is a good amount of catalyst left inside. the sound difference is awesome tough, that rattle really made the car sounds like ****.

1: I paid ~200(CND) about two years ago.
2: It has a rectangular profile roughly 3" tall x 5" wide. Each tip has an I.D. of 2-1/2".
3: Length is 14" tip-tip. About 10" of that is cat.
BABY: thanks man!!! when (im not saying if cos i know it will happen) my carsound craps out, i will be looking at this cat!!! i think this could be the mesiah that everyone has been looking for in cats!!!! i hope.
edit: i see that it is only for OBDI apps...

you can add a bung for obd-2 . you would need to have a 2.5" bung welded anyway to attach to a JDM Header. on a side note.. my Kuhmo's look like that too... no tread on the inside. gonna wait for the belts to expose then mount the new Azenas in the garage.
take a picture of you chewing on the honey comb so we can put "owned for life" on your face
