I believe 16 degress is stock, so yes. You should manually set your timing to 16 degrees, then the Hondata should be tuned to alter timing based on bla bla bla..

At least that's the way I understand it.

Set it at stock timing, then retard with boost.

so if i set it at 16 degrees when they tune it they will have to move the distrb... if so i have to bring my timing gun.

set it a bit advance using hondata to about 18degrees by adding about 2degrees to the stock 16 mechanical timing advance. run that 2 degrees in all map columns up to about about 5000rpm, then, set the boost columns to slowly retard in increments of 2/lb, 4/lb, 6/lb as you go from 0-11psi then set your 12+psi columns to whatever your 11psi column is.

thats just a little secret i'll let you in on. shhhhh. don't tell anyone about that. the exact numbers are up to you though to figure out with some time on the street and dyno to get your fueling right. the rest i wont divulge.

Your tuner should have all the equipment already. Also i think Hondata controls the timing in a table, and dont need to mess with the distributor. Correct me if i am wrong.

it really doesn't matter, you can set your base timing to 2 or 200 degrees, just make sure that the tuner inputs that information into Hondata, it will adjust the maps accordingly.
