Default Header cracked along a weld...

can it be re-welded?
more than cracked is like the weld came off,
is a 4-2-1 DC header, and I really dont want to spend money on a new one, so is either fix it or back to stock

wow, this is the first time, i'm hearing about this.... is this on a ceramic or ss? And if it is something of poor workmanship as it sounds like, then i would think a big company like dc withall their inhouse facilities would be willing to help remedy the problem. What exactly was teh cause of this? Just regular use?? hmm...

I would get a used JDM type R header. If you weld it, it might crack again.

I got a crack along that point as well on my crappola dc 4-2-1

I tried several different "manifold leak filler" compounds, nothing seams to work permenently. eventually that stuff just flakes off.

No way it's that long, it's 2 a year warranty. A lot of people buy the CC headers to save money but the SS is a much better buy if you plan on keeping the car for a while. CC headers crack much easier than SS and do not last as long. Welding once crack on a CC header will bump the overall cost to the price of a SS header.
