Default why is it overheating???

Just did my motor swap with a JRSC added as well and my car keeps overheating any time I go over 4k RPM. I have changed the Thermostat 4 times, had radiator checked for leaks, checked the head gasket by a compression test, checked for any airbubbles in the coolent. any other ideas??? any help would be cool
thanks

Their could possibly be air in your lines. Your thermostat is probably working, but air may be flowing through the engine block. Does the air blow cold when our temp gauge is hot?

I'm sorry I'm a square, what air do you mean???? AC?? Heater???? All i know is the hoses connected to the radiator are both hot, so the water pump is working for sure cause it must be circulating, but engine still overheats after 30 minutes or so normal driving.....ratiator also shows to be warm but not hot

When you pour antifreeze into the radiator when it is empty air becomes trapped inside. You may need to burp the system.

There should be two lines that go into the fire wall. Try to switch these and see if it helps.

I'm not sure why you are over heating if you've checked everything...but MAYBE you are running lean...just a thought...but I dunno.

try checking your plugs

Hey man,
I have a 91 CRX Si and I just had to put it in the shop for a similar reason. About 3 weeks ago I replaced the timing belt. 2 weeks later Im driving around and notice that the temp gage is rising. Then ecu throws off a code 17 (speed sensor). As Im driving the temp rises when I speed up and goes down when I slow down. Well I take it home and shut it off, wont start! A couple hours later it starts and run fine! 2 days later it does it again with the same code 17. Again drove it home and shut it off, it wouldnt start!! For 4 days I tried my best to trouble shoot the problem, new radiator, temp sensor, temp sending unit, thermostat still it wont start. After checking numerous relays, connections, and sensors I finally decided to have a dealer take a look at it. Well when I was waiting for a tow truck to come pick it up to take it to the shop I tried to start it, and what do you know IT STARTED!!!!!!!!! Any way I still had it towed to the shop to see if they could find the problem, they havent been able to and they have done everything, bleeding air, diagnostics, ect, ect. They told me that my car had them "perplexed". So if you figure out what up or if I can Ill let you know.

Bronson

yeah it does now that I changed the sensor that turns on the fan,, but you have to remember that this is a 2000 civic with 30,000 miles and I am still having all of these problems...... The motor has been rebuilt wiith everything imagined, to give you a good idea about 6,000 just for parts and rebuild, not including the jrsc......... plus to top it off the shop that built the motor will not warranty it,(which I understand because it is a racing application) but doesn't everyone agree that it wont run right from the start that the shop should pay to have it fixed or at least fix it themselves??????? Right now I am assuming that it is the Head Gasket....but I dont know

Just a thought. I'm not very familiar with 2000 civics. But do they have the half size radiator? if they do, and its stock, it may not be enough.
If you have a fully rebuilt motor with 6k parts and a SC, you'd better be making some real power over 4000RPM. And that means you're heating things way quicker/more than a stock radiator can handle.
If you have upgraded to a bigger/more efficient radiator, then I dunno. But just a thought.

Does your engine really overheat or is the temp sensor saying it does? Buy a thermometer to find out. The reason I'm saying this is because my crx had problems with the temp gauge. I thought it was overheating, but it never went above 200 (from what I remember). There was something wrong with the gauge, probably electrical, because I could make it rise and fall by turning on and off my headlights.

yeah, it does overheat because i also have a water temp guage (autometer) anyways I took it to a shop and they have the temp reader also.... Today they just figured out that it is most likely the HEad Gasket because they did another leak down test
