Checked the plugs today, interesting looking...
Ben useing bosch platinum+4's for about 6000 miles now. I pulled them out and set them in order. All of them, on the 4 arms were a nice pleasant greyish color ( wouldnt quite say white indicating too hot) In my manual the picture of the "proper" plug is brownish, but says under it that they can also be grey, and these are very grey.
On the bottom parts of the arms there is a pitch black clating that flakes off. Its also around the threads that are exposed to the chamber. But then there is nearly nothing on the ceramic surounding the electrode...
So, either Im at the correct heat range, or Im a bit on the hot side, and the black is just carbon build up, or Im running really rich?
stock ignition, stock fuel system.

I was running bosch platinum+4's too for about 5k and they looked about the same as you said. i thought they made the car run better that was until i swaped out the the bosch for NGK's and the my cay ran alot smother.
i say theres a reason the Honda put NGK's from the factory

Which NGK's would you recommend? the copper, the platinum, and dont they make some sort of "performance" NGK?? like with a split top or something?
thanks

-ya, I had thought about going back to them, but somehthing about the price of the =4's made me believe believe it was better to have them in.
not that they are bad, but maybe not the best.

Copper is a better conductor than platinum, so go with NGK platinums. They have V-grooves if that is what you mean by performance. BAsically electricity transfers better across edges better, so they put a V groove in the ground electrode to give it more sharp edges.
actually ive said this about 5.7 million times the +4 plugs make power and how you can not have good luck with them i dont understand but whatever the reason honda put ngk plugs in thier cars? cost effective.
tell it to the dyno cuz i dont wanna hear it.
Blue line = Bosch #4227 Spark plugs
Red line = NGK V-Power Spark plugs
