Default upper ball joint

my driver side upper ball joint is bad. I read in my book that it is an "intergral" part of the upper control arm and the whole control arm needs to be replaced? is it possible to change out the upper ball joint? or should i buy new upper control arms. I was thinking abou the ones that let you change camber bc i am going to drop the car soon. thanks for any help

tie rod ends andlower balljoint i got for like $100 new at pepboys.

only the lower balljoint is seperate from assembly.

Be prepared to pay $125-140 for a NEW upper control arm with balljoint.

no, you cant just buy the stock balljoint without having to pay for the whole A-arm. $90 from majestic. however, you can buy aftermarket balljoints that will replace just the balljoint and provide adjustability from http://www.specprod.com/

The ball joints on the control arms can be removed if you have a 90-91 ef...only the 90-91 ef's ball joints can be pressed out...the 88-89 ef's ball joints are welded to the control arms...

since i have an 89 then i am assuming i need to either;

1. get new arms from majectic or soemplace like so.
2. go to a junkyard and get a set up 91 UCA's and use SPC ball joints to put in, (or use the mif they ar good?

3. are 92-93 UCA's usable or not?

i called spc performance and they quoted me

$60 each for the 67075
$160 each for 67320
$140 each for 67320

if you know of a place to get teh 67075's for 35 each, let me know. I was thinking about going with one to adjust for camber, but i am not goign ot have a slammed car, so i should be fine.

i just found this site:

http://www.k-mac.com.au/makes/honda.htm

they have a nice set up but it is about 370 usd. I think i am just going to get new ones from auto zone 70 each, new balljoint, new arms, the whole shooting match. .

the junk yards want 35 each, and then i would have to pay to have it pressed out and pressed in, not to mention the cost of the new ball joints. in the end its not worth it, ball joints are 50 just by themselves!!

I want to put ES boot ends on it and want to know how i can replace the rubber

thepartsbin.com has them for like 60 bucks apiece, i bought a set a few months ago, and i am really happy with them.....they fit perfect and seem to be built better than factory. honda wants like 150 apiece for them.........that sucks

Don't go with what SPC says. They rip you off if you order direct through them. Ask SPC for the the closet shop to you or even some that are in the area. And call those shops for price quotes. They will be cheaper.
