Earlier today, I was going about 100mph on the parkway, and then I got off it. I pulled into a parking lot, and got out of the car. There was a strange smell, which smelled like burning plastic. Didn't seem to smell like rubber, but I could be wrong. Is this normal?

 

I've smelled many 'a' strange smells after a high speed run. I wouldn't worry about it...

 

ya, i hate weird smells. after i put my remote starter in a couple days ago, i kept smelling this weird electrical smell, but not like burning but funny. finally figured out that it was the gas stabilizer i had in there and it leaked out so that was the smell.....

 

i got that same damn smell after my tranny rebuilt(automagic) on my beater everytime i drive it hard

 

yea i was smelling a burning plastic smell then i took looked under my car there was a plastic bag melted to my cat. it suck as it was but removing it was a son og a gun

I don't have a clutch. I only smell it basically right after I have a really fast acceleration.

my car smells icky after that too...but that was before i got the exhaust leak fixed, once i get the car back ill see if it still gets stanky after some quick driving

when i smell burning plastic after a good run its either a plastic bag on the cat or the muffler itself burning the area around my bumber
