Fuel smell coming from engine bay...
Well, I first smelled the fuel through my heater vent, and I pulled over right away, opened the engine bay and it was really strong...definately fuel vapors.
The fuel filter nut is tight, and I saw no leaks from the fuel rail and the stock fpr.
Any thoughts? I got the car home now, but any fuel leaks is not something I want to risk driving with...being on fire isn't exactly my favorite thing.
For the record:
Skunk2 chipped ecu, stock fuel system.

did you just happen to get gas? one time i smelled gas, and thought it was leaking somewhere. turns out I had just gotten gas and I think i just had gas on my shoes. if thats not the case, and you dont see any leaks, check the underside of the injectors and make sure the seals arent screwed up. just work you way from the injectors, to the fuel rail, fpr and the fuel filter. good luck
thatsfunny,my car is doing that as well.
right now i suspect the evap but im gonna look over it again today now that i have light.
but this has been going on for a few days now at least

this definately didn't happen to you but....a month after I got my R.....I came out in the morning to drive back to my apartment and my fuel line ruptured and sprayed gas all under the houund........it was insane
It has been happening for a couple weeks not that I think about it.
I do not have my evap hooked up. All my vacumn plugs are plugged on my IM.
I suspect it is my EVAP now that I think of it, because it is suppose to 'recycle' fuel vapors right? So if mine isn't hooked up, it will just leak the fuel vapors out into the open.

When I did my swap, I didn't put the muffler washer on the fuel rail when connecting the fuel hose. It would leak a tiny bit and I could smell it... and when I kept checking for it, I couldn't see anything. I rubbed my finger on it and I could smell it on my skin, but couldn't see it because it was leaking out so thinly (is that a word?)..
I ended up tightening it more and it stopped. I lost the washer. This might not be the problem, but just letting you know it was kindof tricky looking for a little leak like that because I couldn't see it..

Ya, its hard mainly because if there is a small fuel leak, it will most likely evaporate...
I'll give it a shot after work, and
to you if thats it.

I have been on fire before... with my GSR, its not fun! Please bring it to acura to prevent damage or injury! Tow it if you have to!
Plus insurance is a bitch... they always think you have done it for moeny.
They spend alot of time trying to blame you personally for insurance fraud, not fun!

you are better off taking it to your next door neighbor's 12 year old.
Well, I peaked under the hood for a while today, and ran the car...the fuel smell is definately coming from around behind the engine. I still couldn't see any leaks, which is good. I am going to drive it for about 1/2 hour then do another under the hood observation session and see if I can use my fabulous nose to sniff out the source. The fuel smell usually comes on strong after about 20 min of freeway driving.
