Default Theft prevention for ITR's. My suggestion at least.

1. Move to Alabama.
2. Preceed to smallest county in Alabama
3. Live down a long dirt driveway and park your R in the grass.
4. Buy the best alarm system known to man. They go by the name of Buck, Julie, and Benji. Just make sure to keep them fed and when it gets cold let Julie and Benji inside. Buck the border collie can hold the fort down pretty well by himself.
5. Finish it off by getting a few cows to confuse any stunnaz.

I would try not to park for too long. And also get a club, autolock, alarm, and kill switch.

If they tow it then thats a different story

your approach is so complicated... just leave a bullet-riddled teen with a Slim Jim in his hand by your car...

It was pretty much a joke but my car hasn't even been touched yet. Seriously though my dogs are about the best theft provention you can get. Add that in with the fact that you have to drive down a long driveway with planted pine trees and a swamp on either side its pretty hard to sneak up on my car. I also live about 60 miles from any major city.

On a more serious note I was thinking of installing a removable racing wheel in my car. It won't stop the tow trucks, but it might just be enough here in St. Louis.

I used to live on the Canada/USA border in a little town of 11,000. I was 133 miles from the next major city which only had a population of 200,000.

Parked my ITR in the back alley and my alarm never went off.

i live in a city with like 500,000 people and i have never heard of a vehicle theft, maybe your stereo getting jacked, but thats it... move to boise, park your car in the middle of downtown and dont lock your doors with your keys in the ignition, i've actually done that on accident a few times... no problems

This guy with a B16A Del Sol @ my university has a removable steering wheel. But what do you do with them? Carry them with you?

I live in a town outside of toronto, population 1600. 4th day i got my car I went out to my driveway, window smashed, alarm disabled, steering column ripped apart with pieces everywhere. The guy at Acura told me they were really close from getting it started and that it looked like they got scared off before they could finish. I have no idea how thieves found my house after 4 days of owning it since my house is impossible to find.

AA this was sent to me buy a sweet little Texas girl (friend of the family) this mourning...

This came to me from a very good friend of mine that is with the
Austin Police Department..... *lol*

Democrat, Republican, or Texas Republican.

TEST YOUR POLITICS:
_________________________________________________
Question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife
and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with
a huge knife comes around the corner and is running at you
while screaming obscenities. In your hand is a Glock .40 and
you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches
you and your family. What do you do?
_________________________________________________
Liberal Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that is inspiring him to attack?
Could we run away?
Is he mentally ill?
Did he eat a nutritious breakfast?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife
out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Is it possible he'd be happy with killing just me?
Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content
to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get
away while he was stabbing me?
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some
friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion.

Conservative Texan's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click! Click!...
(sounds of clip being ejected and fresh clip installed.)

Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving, what
do you kids think?"

Son: "Mom's right Dad, I saw it too..."
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Dad!"
