Default ecu trouble

Alright my car is 96 hx with a b16a. the car runs smooth until its time for vtec to kick in. When vtec kicks in its like its not even there? Also when the car sits at idle it all of a sudden almost cuts off it does this about every 30sec.. The motor has passed compresion test and the idle is perfect I just dont know anymore. I am thinking the ecu is bad it is 95 delsol.

thanks for your help.

Is your check engine light on or does it come on when this happens? If so you need to see what codes it's throwing and go from there.

i hope youre not using your stock hx ecu harness.....hx's dont have vtec so theres no wiring for any of the vtec stuff...did this happen all of the sudden?? or only after you did the swap??

Yes Iam using my stock hx harness. But the car used to hit vtec hard? But the harness wouldnt effect the fucked up idle.

usually the messed up idle would reflect a vacuum leak of some sort....you might want to check the lines to the evap solenoid and anything related to the evap system.
