Default VX Questions

I tried a search but it doesn't work for VX. What intakes, exhaust etc. can/cannot be used of the VX how is the VX so different from the DX, besides the whole VTEC-E thing?

the VX is lighter than the DX, and it has VTEC-E. you can use the intake from any 92-95 civic i believe.

and for exhaust, any exhaust from the CX, DX, and SI will work on the VX.

nothing really fits with regards to intakes, the VX tb is about 1in, no lie...wel maybe 1.5....its really small. I wouldnt really bother doing anything to that engine short of a mini-me, or complete swap. All you'll do is mess with its fuel economy and not get much hp out of it. It dynos about mid 50s to the wheels......

VX TB is around 46mm or so. other d-series 56mm or so.

VX makes 92hp. DX 102hp. Si 125hp

you want to upgrade find a d16z6 (si) complete head and slap it on. along with it ECU and exhaust manifold (and intake of course) and you'll be more then happy with the results.

VX dynos about 77-84whp (dyno proven), my buddies with headers (meaning no cat), exhaust, and few other homemade goodies went from 77 to 84whp....thats power for ya.

VX = 92 hp

The VX can use exhausts for the 92-95 Civic dx/si hatches but you will need to have a muffler shop weld a pipe extention since the VX has a close coupled cat. Intakes need to have a loose rubber end on it that can clamp down on the small VX TB. AEM intakes will not fit very well. Headers will work fine but you will lose your cat. All these mods may let you keep up with a stock DX ....... maybe.
