Default Tightening crankshaft pulley bolt?

How do i do this without the pulley moving. I tried putting it in gear, 1st and reverse, putting all the sparkplugs in. Any ideas?

I used a craftsmen strap wrench, preferably the chain type. But be careful because you could scratch the pulley. I placed cloth between the strap wrench and pulley when doing it.

put her in 4th n step on the brakes or use a torque gun.
do NOT use a torque gun to install it.
you need to use an old fashion torque wrench when you torque it down.

Son of a bitch i used a air gun. I was only doing a timing belt and did want to take off the tranny housing. Damnit!

moroso crank pully tool or honda one. every tool company makes one, so just stand in a matco trucks way as he leaves a garage, let him hit u a little then youll get it for free.. Or at least at a discount

torque gun works fine for me, no problems yet. would u mind telling us why not to use one?

when my engine was out of the car i put one screw in the flywheel and one in where the tranny bolts upto and slid massive 2.5 foot screw driver in between the two, then took a deep socket and a strong arm, and torqued it nice and tight, i broke 3 sockets though, ,but they were craftsman, so i got a new one for free anyways
