Default Custom piping exhaust tech question.

Hello, ive been shopping for an exhaust sytem and i noticed that all the aftermarket catbacks such as the Greddy EVO, Apexi Ws catback and such systems consist of a resonator somewhere in the middle of their piping. (correct me if im wrong). Now, lets say that i get a customized exhaust piping and a muffler welded on like the kteller8 setup, then there would be no resonator right? so what happens in this case? does the exhaust end up sounding extra super loud that it goes beyond the legal limit? Thanks.

I think so mang, all axis back is consider illgel right?
I know what you talking about..
the little resonator thing..shaped like a high flow cat.
talk to the man of exhaust and see if he can custom fit you one..

i dunno......when i look at the aftermarket catbacks, the resonator is welded onto the piping and i dont know if kteller8 does that. And even if he does, i have a feeling that prices will go up and end up being like the aftermarket catbacks like Graddy Evo, etc. Im on a limited budget so im lookin for a custom piping exhaust, that wont go beyond the legal limits.

i believe he sells resonators seperate you just cut out a straight piece of the pipe and weld the resonator in i am sure it will still be cheaper then any brand name exhaust

For a muffler shop to weld in a resonator would probably run $50 total, however if you are getting one of those setups would probably be cheaper since they are already doing a bunch of welding anyways.

but without the resonator, will it be a lot louder than with the resonator? If so, how much louder? Louder as in exceeding the legal 96 decibels loud??

Kteller sells them with the resonator for an extra $60 and I would imagine it's already installed.

a quality resonator does not add that much backpressue and it will make your drive much nicer on your ears.

I have a custom mid pipe without a resonator with the Top Speed axel back section. It's not too loud and sounds fine. I've never gotten pulled over for it.

A custom mid pipe is cheap and there was a noticible preformance difference after adding that to axel back section.

No, its cheaper than a full catback, my total cost was like $350 or $360.
