Why do you say don't get custom piping?
Why do you say don't get custom piping?

from what an exhaust specialist told me, custom piping is not specifically made, bent, shaped, formed, etc. to maximize hp and torque.
Cat-back piping and a muffler say from Apex'i that's made for your car specifically went through testing to maximize power, durability, etc.
Of course, it's always your choice. Street use doesn't really matter, it's only if you're going to race it on a track.

Depends what you like. My exhaust sets off car alarms, and I'm proud of it. It's not good however when 1) you're trying to sneak out of your house 2) running from cops and 3) when you don't want attention.
If you wanna gets races and have people say "holy ****, that civic must have gangs of **** done to it" just b/c of you're burly sounding exhaust, then get a loud one.
It's all a matter of peference. As a JDM vs. Ricer stand-point, JDM is quiet and Ricer is loud (and annoying). Bumble-bee and exhausts that really sound like the car is farting should just be taken off the market.

Re: (Magnaflow)
I like pacesetter exhausts with a thrush non-louvered glasspack. They arn't as deap sounding as some of the more expensive cat-backs but they get the job done....Yes, I'm serious....both my CRX and hatch have the exact setups.

IMO, go as quiet as possible.

I second that.
The JIC, and Apex'i N1 (And tanabe Racing medallion) are loud. R they ricey to you??
I have the bullet and I can drive normally and its slightly more audible then a Apex'i WS.
For money best exhaust to me.

It's all an opinion. Greddy EVOs sound nice IMO. My exhaust has a silencer, but it sounds horrible with it in, but it is a lot quieter. It is nice being quiet sometimes, I feel "invisible" with it in.
