Default Is there anyway to move the front ac lines behind the center radiator support ?

sorry for the long title, but here it is, my IC id 3.5" deep and having a JDM bumper support which is only about 1/2" wide, there is not a whole lot of room to move my IC back far enough since the ac lines is in the way.

Can I undo the lines and move it back to behind the center bar on the rad support ? how would I go about doing this ? where do I need to disconnect them and move it back ?

PS: I don;t wanna hear, take out your AC

tia

the bar that the line needs to go behind is bolted on the bottom. Unbolt it and bend it out a little and slide the ac line behind it. Bolt it back in and you're done. I've done it a time or two...

Unless the type r core support is different....

Stan I believe they both connect on the passenger side of the engine bay near the ABS. I am not quite sure if I remember right however. Basically You would want to release all of the freon and then undo the line, move as necessary, and then recharge your AC system.

If you can't do it however, I recommend you ditch the A/C. It's added weight and all.

I bent mine with my old drag kit as well, but the drag IC was 2.5" with a whole lot of room in the bumper support, my IC is 3.5" deep with 1/2" area on the gas *** jdm rebar...

i am not sure if I cna cut it yet...if I can mount the ic on the support, yeah, I'll cut the rebar...
my ic is bolted up to the tiny rebar now...

Correct. It's going to get damn cold and I honestly couldn't tell you a good way to release it w/out freezing your hand. My AEM intake back in the day had rubbed a hole in my AC lines, so I didn't have to vent it before the lines were pulled.

Check your local autoparts store as they have the recharge kits. There is probably something in that kit you can use to release the pressure as well.

If you 'accidently' hit the pin in the shrader valve with a long screw driver you shouldn't have a problem with it getting on you at all. I'd just make sure you're garage in well ventilated (who knows how bad r134 is for you). But remember, never intentionally release r134 into the atmoshpere, that is illegal.

Yes. Good point. You will be doing all of this "accidentally."

Yes you should be able to re-route A/C line with a "Soft" tube bender (3/4" & 1/2" size).

That's what I used to re-bend A/C lines from a TEG into my EG to make them fit/clear certain places ......... Patience is the key here though when working with a soft tube bender.

r-134 is the supposedly ozone safe stuff that can be legally released into the atmosphere. r-12 is the bad stuff that destroys the ozone layer and is illegal to release.
