A/C in my EK
Well due to my other post getting bashed for using bad grammar by the grammar-tech guys I guess the best thing to is start over. All yea if something in my grammar is wrong here who cares? This is a tech forum for Hondas and not grammar anyway. I think I’ll save the good grammar for papers that I have to write for classes, and not here on a car tech forum.
This time I did get pictures so the post will need fewer words. So enough on the old lets get to what this forum is for.
This is the stock A/C compressor bracket off my 97 civic DX hatchback with the D16.
This is the bracket off the CRV moter, block stamp B20B4.
You will see that the holes look about the same between the two brackets, well at least the ones that the compressor bolts too anyway. Well the only way that I could check this is too take the CRV A/C compressor and try and bolt it too the stock civic bracket.
It worked!!!

This should mean that the civic compressor will bolt up to the CRV bracket; makes since to me. I have not tried it in the car yet but I will soon.
I was told buy a lot of people that I needed the 99-00 civic si bracket, a 100$ item. So I ordered it. The picture below shows that expensive paperweight. I hope they will return it for a refund or other parts.
This is a picture of a B18b bracket obtained out of a 99 LS Integra.
Those two look about the same, both are stamped p30 but have different #'s after that. There must be some difference in the compressors between the 99-00 and 96-98 civics. But I looked on hondaautomotiveparts.com and thought that the 99-00 civic and 97 Delsol vtec compressor brackets were the same. The Delsol is said too work so either there is a difference in the compressors or hondaautomotiveparts.com is wrong. I don't know, anybody got a picture of the Delsol B series bracket they could post to see what the difference is?
Heres some pics of my moter just for the hell of it.

Thanks, Ive had it for 9 months so all I could do till I got all the parts i needed is clean it. A toothbrush and Simple Green do wonders. The tranny is a 99 LS Integra. Need clutch and a header; might just throw on the stock b20 manifold for now. Geuess it depends on how funds go

The bracket really isn't the part to consider, it's the compressor.
I've sworn up and down forever that you need a 99-00 Si P54 bracket but the P30 will also work. It depends on the compressor as to which bracket you'll need.
I have a 96 CX and had to use a P54 bracket.
I helped a buddy last night with a 98 DX and he had a P30 bracket off a 99 Si, didn't line up to the DX compressor so he needs the P54 as well.
I've seen P30s used in EK swaps as well. Just depends on the AC compressor and which company made it for Honda.

seen a few ?'s about this so I thought I would dig this up. For who it may concern the b20 bracket worked just fine, its been in my car for 9 months and used a/c all summer long. This bracket is from a 97 crv and i beleive it was stamped p7j. This bracket is 50$ off hondaautomotiveparts.com, where as the p54 bracket is 100$. This is good info for anyone doing a swap in ek/eg body.
great info.. but i have a question. i have a ac with the stamp p30 on it. what ac compresser do i need for the p30? if i use a 94 teg compresser with the piping & the compresser bolt up with out any mods. the car is a 92 si hatch
if you use a p30 bracket i have herd that 2 of the 4 bolts for the compressor will line up. Now if you use an integra compressor you will need to get custom lines made for you a/c should mount the moter in there no problem, but for the money youspend on coustom lines that might not work you could have a bracket that will work.
so i would be better off gettin the del sol bracket and gettin a ac compress from a 92-95 civic...
ps i heard u have to have a ac mount even if u dont have ac., because its like a motor mount, it keep the engine from moving

yes you need the a/c mount regardless but if you dont have a a/c compressor now or any lines it may be better for you to use a p30 mount and get the coustom lines if you allready have the p30.
