Comparison of B20 and B16 AC Compressor Engine Mounts....
Going from what I was told on this board, I bought a DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC mount so I could have AC with my B20 swap. After closer inspection of the Del Sol mount, I thought it looked alot like the stock B20b AC mount I already had.
I went and dug the B20 mount out of my parts pile.
Here are pics. Brand new Del Sol on the left, used B20b on the right.
The caliper is held open 1" for scale. As you can see, the mounting holes to the block and AC compressor are identical on both mounts. I set the mounts on top of each other in this next pic and put pins in the AC mounting holes. They line up perfectly.
The bolt hole spacing and pattern is identical on both mounts. The castings are different, but for all practical purposes, the mounts are interchangeable.

what year delsol is the mount for?
there all the same (except the 400 96 del sols with obdII b16a2's)
The Del Sol mount in the picture was for a '95 model. It has P54 cast into.
The CRV mount is from a '97 auto, USDM.

the ac fits with the del sol mount and not the b20, despite that they line up?
Just for clarification, this is for putting a B-series engine in a 92-95 Civic, using the stock Civic AC compressor.
I don't know if it applies to 96+ Civics or not.
Iv'e just gone through basically this same problem. I ordered the ac bracket from a 96 Del Sol VTEC. It has the same part number as the 99-00 Civic Si - stamped P30. But it is identical to the bracket that came on my B18C R - stamped P73 and the bracket from a friends B18C1 - stamped P72. So it looks like the 95 Del Sol is indeed the one you need.
I ordered the 99-00 Si mount and it has the P54 in the part number.
Works like a champ.
P30 one is from a 94-95 del Sol DOHC Vtec motor.

Well, im getting a b20 A/C bracket for my swap (b20z into delSol). I found one cheap so im going to try it out. Just hope it fits...
B20b works, B20z should too.
"because the CRV engine bay chassis is the same as an EK Civic engine bay chassis.. "
Because I remebered the above statement when I was doing my swap, we tried using the stock B20Z timing belt mount bracket, instead of the 99-00 Si(R) one..and it worked like a charm! We compared the 2 are they are almost identical...this is only for B20s into 96-00 Civics I believe tho.
That saved me almost $100 Canadian...
Thanks Newman!
