Default Question about a user on this websites setup

I was browsing the appearance forum where I came across "Team White yo", I was looking at all the white civics and came across a certain one.

Im not trying to start anything, but I want to get something straight. Singlecam Screamer, he has a 92 hatchback thats stripped. His mods are as following : dc 4-1 header wrapped in dei wrap, broward clutch, aem cai from a 99-00 si, vafc, a 60 shot of nitrous, 2.25 custom piping to a muffler, and slicks.

I have read lots of posts where people have dropped lots of money into their car and its quick, but not super fast or anything. With his setup, he says he does the 1/4 in 12.8. His sig says 11's should be around the corner.

Im not doubting this, but something seems way wrong here. If he is hitting 12's with this setup, then all others with swaps and turbos should be doing like 7's.

Maybe someone could care to explain this to me or talk to him yourself. Something about his car being that fast doesnt seem right at all.

Thanks in advance

7s? hooray for dumbasses.

i think singlecam screamer has a d16y8, which has 120 horsepower stock in a VERY light car. add nitrous to that, and his other mods, 12s is very believable.

its called slicks and learning how to drive, and i also believes he runs an 85 shot. a while back he posted about his run and the details, to lazy to find the post though. it's not bs, just bone stock d16z6 with bolt ons, mistabone on this site ran a 13.xx with the same setup almost, running zex 85 shot.

d16z6? my bad, that is even better. 125 horsepower bone stock.

All I asked was if someone could explain it to me. I also said it was hard to believe. Not once did I say it was bullshit or anything.

I im'd him and he said he had was running a 60 shot of NOS, dry kit, nothing special.

Now my question, If he is going this fast with very few mods, why do people spend lots of money on swaps, and turbos and all of this? If they only need a few things like him why spend thousands of dollars to swap a motor?

i would rather spend 5 grand on a motor and run 13s all day long n/a on street tires, than spray the hell out of my motor and run slicks. its preferance. there isn't a right or wrong answer, but me personally i really don't like turbochargers or nitrous.

i'd also like to add that most of us don't drag race, and nitrous is pretty much useless on anything but the strip. a dohc vtec hybrid pulls hard all the time, so it is better for autocross and circuit racing.

D16Y8 = 127 hp, 107 lb-ft of torque.

just for future reference.
