Default Obd1 pros: Input needed

I am about to convert my crx to obd1, I have a ls turbo and run abou 10psi. The sole reason I will be convering is to run the honda s200 with boost. I dont have the money for my hondata yet, and will be going to the track soon. Has anyone expirenced anything good from converting. I think the rev limit may be higher on the obd1 but is there any other advantages, thanks.

I did my obd1 conversion because of the fact that I only need 1 heated 02 sensor , I can run it down at the collector of my longtube header without getting the classic studder that everyone gets with running the crappy 2 02's from a pr3 or pwo ecu. I also run a hondata stage 4.

Hit me up if you are wanting a conversion harness.

i converted my 88 crx si to obd1 in August, i was lucky because i got all the parts i needed from a wrecked 95 si, i totally took out all the obd0 wiring from the hatch/gas door switch beside the seat all the way to the headlights, the h4 hookup was sweet because i have an ef8 front end, no problems with the way the engine runs but when i hit the brakes the taillights wont work, i think if i just use a trouble light i will be able to solve this.........i used the same motor and didn't do anything to it other then the wiring upgrade, the obd1 inj. and dist. and what a difference in power!!! well worth it!!! if you need any tips i'll try to help out, just IM me..........if you look at my avitar you can kind of see the obd1 fuse box above the intake

You don't need the injectors if you leave the resistor box on. You need the obd 1 dist, o2, conversion harness and ecu

Yeah, i have everything I need to convert it, I am debating weather to wait until i ge my hondata to do the conversion though, thats why I was asking if it would benifit to do it now other than the fact that I would already have it done.

If you do the converstion and your Hondata doesn't work right you can always change back to OBD0. This happened to me last weekend....

There are a couple of other advantages to using a newer ECU. They are performance and cost. 1992+ LS motors have a higher output due to internal changes (cams on 1992-1993, cams, head, intake manifold, and throttle body on 1994-1995) as well as differences in ECU tuning. If you run a later LS motor with an earlier ECU, it will not run as well. So a 1992+ ECU will give you more power right off the bat. Also, if you bought a 1992+ LS motor, you likely already have the 1992+ ECU and distributer. If you wanted to run an earlier ECU, you would need to buy both the earlier ECU AND distributer. So if you have a later motor, it is cheaper to use the ECU that came with the motor.

I think a big benefit of going from OBD0 to OBD1 is the distributor.

The OBD0 B-series VTEC dizzys are becoming more and more hard to find in Japan and worse in the U.S. Ive seen a lot fail and when you try to rebuild them, the internal screws that hold them together usually are seized or break. Its a decade old distributor.....go for the more common OBD1 distributors......at least we had them here in the U.S. for the Del Sol's and early Integra's.

#2 advantage would be for the downpipe. I hear so many problems with people dealing with the OBD0 2 single wire O2's. I havent any issues in any of my swaps. You just need to sometimes switch pins C8 and C16.

I understand many people buy changovers with no downpipe so they are forced to buy a header and headers with the provisions for dual signal wire O2 are rare or expensive to find here in the U.S.

My #1 reason for going OBD1 in my latest EF is the distributor......I no longer need to bring along an extra OBD0 dizzy when I go long distances or racing at the track

yeah my swap is a 92, but I run a obd0 pr4, it seems like my friend runin a p75 can shift higher than I can. Is the 94 teg throttle body better than my 92.
