Friend of mine with an RSX-S blew his motor..
Car was a beast on 125 shot, he is now set on creating a monster.. We're looking for a shop that sells forged pistons and rods for an RSX-S, anybody know of any with decent prices?
We have rods and pistons e-mail me at hitechexhst@earthlink.net
Yeah, a beast that got owned by naws.
When will people learn?

heck , if they can afford to replace engines .....why not i guess

Yeah, I guess you're right. Just seems like such a waste.

Hate to correct you.. but.
He ran Nitrous 100 shot for 6-7 months on the car, daily driven car that was only stepped on weekeneds with nitrous. He upped the shot to 125, took the necessary precautions and ran that for 2 months.
No problems.
The motor was blown because of the computer, not the motor. See, the reason the RSX-S can handle so much spray is because it retards timing on the FLY. Correct me if I'm wrong. We live in FL, not usually very cold outside - However we have had a recent nights where it goes as low as 40 degrees ... He has a CAI... Now, again - correct me if I'm wrong - but the RSX-S ADVANCES timing on the fly when it's recieving cold air(hence why it is so responsive to a CAI) Basically the two were working against each other and caused the motor to blow..
So before you talk about how nitrous blew his motor, you might wanna hear some more facts - the motor can handle and has handled that much nitrous before..

Naws should sell blocks with their motors, because I can't count how many people I know that have blown up Hondas with the kit.
Naws is like crack. May give you pleasure for a while, but it will end up costing you some day.

I agree.
I told him many times I thought a new car/motor was not worth ******* with... I don't agree with people saying the car couldn't handle it, because I saw it with my own eyes for 6 months.
Fact is, whether it's nitrous, turbo, or supercharger - RSX-S, Integra Type R, GSR, LS, whatever - when you want PERFORMANCE you expect things like this to happen, was it silly on a new car? maybe - but all I know is that he was running a high 12 second 1/4 mile and putting down 300 HP to the wheels on 125 shot with drag radials - Was it worth it? I'll let you guys know when his motor is done

...but heck if you can afford to replace ..why not do it i guess
But I guess owning a Honda is "cool" these days. Mere words cannot express my disgust with that particular trend.
"He upped the shot to 125, took the necessary precautions and ran that for 2 months."
Unless those "necessary precautions" consisted of upgraded internals, your friend is a moron. a stock internaled K series even running 100 shot is just begging for the slightest system **** up to chip a valve or burn a hole in a piston. Just because he got away with doing it for 3 months doesnt make it any less idiotic.

obviously theres a bunch of fucktards in here that dont know much about k series motors
if he was running a 100 shot for that long, sounds like he knew what he was doing
you people are the reason honda lovers are looked down upon
and MK Ultra if you seem to dislike hondas so much then here is the door
tell your friend good job for trying something new

But only morons waste buckets of money on a Honda trying to make it "fast." If you've got the money, just buy a car that's fast to begin with, not a FWD, four-cylinder, glorified econobox.

blown motor = obviosuly NOT.
