What do you guys think about that BOMZ High flow cat they sell on ebay? I am thinking on getting one but I don't know if it's worthy or not. And if its easy to do it yourselft. I put my short ram intake with your help and I haven't have any problems yet. oohh I guess I should change my signature now since my car it's not stock anymore. Anyways any input will be greatly appreciated.

i find that they are easy to install. its just a bolt on, really.
do they have a bung for the 2nd O2S?

I would go with a quality high flow cat like Carsound and have it custom installed at shop. shouldn't cost more than $150, but it's probably not worth it for the 1-2hp you'll get from it.

 

Carsound is what i have. i got mine for $100.

i have to disagree, i think its worth it. as far butt dyno goes. but we all know that doesnt go very far.

 

will my car just get louder or will I gain time in a 1/4 mile? What about if I put my pipe bigger I want to do that. What size do you guys recoment that I put my exaust pipe? the cat co it's $50 plus shipping...

 

The Bomz are not even catalytic converters. All they are is a chrome resinator, which is illegal. I have a random technology high flow cat. It cost me $220, and gives a few HP, but i dont have it on my car right now. I have my "super high flow cat on".

a local shop quoted me $79 for a carsound 94 series no air cat, w/ flanges welded on. you just need some liquid wrench for the rusted bolts, a good wrench and some muscle power.

i wouldnt get the high flow cat if all you have is just an intake, your not really going to notice much. i'd go for header or catback exhaust first.

most of those cats on ebay arent really even cats, they're more like test pipes in the form of a cat.

as far as exhaust piping size goes id reccomend 2.25' - 2.5'. my apexi ws catback is 60mm = 2.3xxx'

Y don't you guys just Hollow your stock Cat. by gettting a Long Drill Bit that has a pointy head and drill the heck out of your inside stuff in your Cat. It is mostly sand and dirt. Watch out for ur O2 sensor thats it.

 

for real? illegal? ohh man. Thanks god I came here and ask first. I think I will probably have a look at that carsound or either get the headers. By the way are those headers good the one they sell on ebay that is? I am sorry but I am kind of hook on ebay now. So you guys suggest I get those ebay headers or go for something else?

Does anyone know the part number or deminsions for direct replacement of stock cat?

Are the carsounds also CARB certified?

 

I dont know if I would trust the rip-off versions of headers they sell on Ebay. I just picked up a set of DC Sport CC 4-2-1 two piece headers for my 2.3L Accord for $200 shipped to my door. They were barely more than the imitations and they are at least a name I can semi-trust. I have seen them go cheaper than that but at times when I didnt have the money to spend on them. Go authentic for something like that.

BTW, in most states it is illegal to remove the CAT unless you are certified to do so and even then it has to be replace by a DOT approved replacement. Like said above, I doubt those BOMZ you see on Ebay are anything more than staright pipes with baffling to make it look like a cat.

And in regard to the post about drilling, you stand a good chance of failing emissions when you drill out the baffles in your CAT. That is not sand/dirt coming out. That is oxidized platinum mesh that comes out, part of the reason Catylitic converters are so expensive. IMO, youd be safer buying a DOT approved staright through CAT, especially if this will be a registered daily driver.
