Anybody know the weight diff between a CF hood and a stock hood?

If its save like 20 to 30 pds then i prolly pick one. If anything less, i have to think about getting it cuz personally I think they are fugly (not hating, just keepin it real)

 

I never really weight mine but when i was comparing to two i think that the cf hood must have been least 30 pounds lighter.

 

Or you could just paint it...

wtf. a CF hood is way lighter than a stock hood. and IMO it looks good depending on what color the car is. if havin a CF hood is rice, where are the chicken wings because i'm starving.

 

Get rid of the "rice factor" by getting a CF hood that is OEM in design. Thats what I did. My car is EBP with plain black rims, so the hood matches up nicely.

I didn't mean paint your stock hood to look like a CF one. I meant if you don't want the look of the CF Hood you could paint that so it looks like the stock hood.

as for the c/f hood, i don't see how painting it would make you a ricer.

I don't know what kind of hoods you all have, but my Fiber Images is NOT noticably lighter than stock. I would be surprised if there were a 10 pound difference. None-the-less, even if it were a 50 pound difference(not gonna happen) a carbon fiber hood wouldn't be worth the money, if you are only getting it to save weight. The only reason to but a cf hood is looks IMO, since the small weight saving arent gonna help you at all.

 

My stock hood weighed in at 42lbs.. my CF hood (TC spoiler) was 16 lbs... so there was a 26 lb weight savings in my case..
