i just got a y8 intake manifold and tb for my a6 head. it didn't come with the iacv though(and yes its from a manual cause its got a place for it on the manifold, not the tb). after searching i still am not sure about this.

do i need to get the iacv for it, or do i use the stock eacv instead?

im not sure if the eacv will even bolt up to the y8 manifold or not, i havent taken anything apart yet. i am just wondering what other people have done for this. thanks.

 

they should be interchangable. iacv, eacv, same thing. how could you tell it's manual from the manifold?

 

the automatic has the iacv on the throttle body (i believe its the same tb as the d16y7 w/the 3 wire iacv) and no provision for it on the back of the manifold.

the one i have only has the map and tps on the throttle body and a space where the iacv is supposed to go(but of course it isn't there).

so an iacv (92+) sends the same signal as an eacv (pre 92)?

all i have to do is figure out if the <U>eacv</U> from the a6 manifold will bolt to where the <U>iacv</U> from the y8 manifold is supposed to go. i have a feeling it wont bolt up...but i will check as soon as the garage warms up. i think it got up to about 8 degrees F here today

 

The pre 92 will not bolt up to your y8 mani. They're sized different.

 

what about the 90+ integra...i may be wrong but doesnt that have the iacv instead of the eacv?

anybody know what i can get an iacv from that will bolt to the y8 mani?
is it all 92+ civic platforms, and maybe 90+ integras?
any others like accords or preludes that i can get one off of?

I really dont know about the y8 manifold, but 2nd gen B16as share the same iacv as the 90+ integras.

 

The D16Z6 one should bolt up. D16A6 ones do not work. As for the Integra ones, I don't know. I'd assume no.
